This friend, who supposedly belongs to the “open source” cult, and started cursing me for using an iPad. Explaining how it is just like using IE6 2011.

Guess what? It is not like that. Not at all.

It is something that I just want to use stuff which helps me get shit done.

No, I am not obsessed with iOS or Android, Mac OS X or Linux, or Python or Ruby, or for that matter most of the things.

I used to be among guys who were just too biased and never wanted to try out maybe Rails for web development or maybe even try out Mac OS X over any of my favorite Linux distros. But no, I am not like this anymore though, still a Python fanboy and using Django for my primary development, but again I want to specifically target this post to the android or iOS folks who are just way too obsessed with what they use or more than that “What the world should use?”. So it is more I use something which helps me get shit done and not what I should use.

Gimp is something which has helped me with whatever basic image editing tasks I have ever wanted to do, but somehow some of the best designers say it is something which is no where comparable to Photoshop.

I am not saying that I will not change for good. I definitely have changed a lot of stuff, like maybe migrating from Linux to Mac OS X. And I am loving it.

I get the best of the both worlds. I am getting all the super awesome UNIX capabalities and I am also getting one of the best user experinces in the world. Getting to experience the awesomeness of Cocoa apps.

Also, I recently migrated from gEdit as my primary editor (on linux) to TextMate and now to Vim, and yes I am loving it. So change is good, cult is not.

But what I have learned is not to be biased about something in life. If there is any cult that I belong to – it’s “Getting Shit Done” – whatever it takes. And a lot of credit that I realized that being biased towards something is not the option is because of @mbansal14 of @Lpad_in.

Let’s deliver something and then we can dictate our terms too!

Recently I was working on some project and this guy was like dictating a lot of terms and conditions on us and was going on adding features which we hadn’t even decided upon, but it was damn easy to get over this situation, damn fucking easy to dictate my terms upon him.

The trick is that get in a habit of over delivering occasionally and delivering before time and once you do this, the ball is in your court. Now it is time for you to dictate your terms, get the stuff removed which you are not comfortable coding, my mantra : “Let’s deliver something and then we can dictate our terms too!”

P.S : This is my first attempt on blogging, might not be really good.
